Chinese New Year,Chinatown@Singapore

Captain and I made a trip down to Chinatown today to try out his DSLR camera. I was messing around the camera for quite a while and took some pictures with it. Chinatown is definitely one of the recommended places of interest for tourists. I felt like a tourist too, snapping pictures at whatever i deemed interesting. There are so many shops selling Chinese New Year related pastries and decorations, good photography opportunities!

We had some GuiLingGao at this place,KangHeTang..
I love the very traditional chinese furnishings and decorations in the shop.
We ordered two bowls of GuiLingGao in large size and they cost 7 bucks each. They are worth every dollar for its taste and the ambience of the shop:) THe GuiLingGao tasted 'authentic' and the honey provided in the little teapot was not overly sweet.. GuiLingGao is good for skin and they are known to have detoxifying properties. I am having this angry zit on my cheek and i thought that the GuiLingGao will aid me in curing it or at least make it less swollen.

The Pre World War II shophouses, now painted in a new coat of colour, adding a modern twist to the remains of history.

The Year of The OX...or Cow? You decide....Mooooooo~
I am going to hop on one of these one day.

Preserved Sausages...and preserved ducks...i used to be scared at the sight of those preserved ducks when i was young, they look like dried bats! But they are a must for the dinner table during Chinese New Year.

Different types of GuaZi......

These citrus fruits symbolise fortune, wealth and good luck to the Chinese for its colour and name.

These are going to be in full bloom by Chinese New Year which is next week and they resemble cherry blossoms to me!

Peranakan costumes...i thought that the old man looked cute!

Chinese teapots....

The Famous Indian(Hindu) Temple in Singapore,Sri Mariamman Temple, next to Chinatown, or should i say in Chinatown?

I love Singapore, yes i do.

After Chinatown, we headed to Marina Square for dinner at Thai Express, probably our favourite restaurant of all times? I love Thai food for its spicy, tangy taste!! Captain has one of those Tom Yum Set and I had some Honey Chicken which tasted
heavenly!!! We had a walk at the Merlion Park and i was trying to capture some pictures of the night view but failed miserably....guess practice makes perfect.
